On the 13th of June at Hayama’s scenic hilltop we had a joint seminar with the IGES, Institute for Global Environment Strategies, regarding our joint research and practice operation expected to launch in developing countries and regions. His honorable president of the IGES, Dr. Kazuhiko Takeuchi, and our president, Dr. Chihiro Tamura both addressed the joint seminar. Dr. Toshio Taguchi, vice-president of NPO Tamura, delivered a speech regarding the origin and current activities of our organization NPO and the possible future of cooperation with the IGES. Since a foreign research staff from Bangladesh made a presentation about its capital’s urban problems, we have recognized that we do not know much about its country and issues. We need more learning about the issues and are looking forward to learning together with the IGES people.
今年6月13日、葉山の眺めのよい丘にある公益財団法人地球環境戦略研究機関IGESで、当NPOとIGESによる開発途上国に関する都市問題の共同研究や技術協力に向けた共同研究会を開催した。当日は、IGESの理事長である武内和彦博士と当NPO理事長である田村千尋博士も出席した。当NPO副理事長の田口俊夫博士より、当NPOの創立目的と現在の活動について講演が行われた。IGESからはバングラデッシュ国からの外国人研究員が首都の都市問題について講演された。その講演を聞いて、我々はバングラデッシュについて知らないことが多すぎることを再認識し、今後もIGESの所員の方々と勉強を続けていくことに合意した。
